Children and Family Services
Families are important and we know that all parents want their children to have a fair go, but raising children is not always easy. It is reasonable for families to expect that help will be offered when things are difficult. When families can get help things can be better. At times when families need extra help (counselling and support), Children and Family Services (Cafs) might be able to assist. Cafs provide family and individual counselling and support, foster care placements for 0-14 year old children and advocacy while the family and Cafs staff work together towards finding solutions to family difficulties
Youth Services
The ACP (adolescent community placement) program provides home ased care for young people who are aged between 13 to 17 years and are unable to live with their families. The focus of the program is young people who are on statutory orders with referras mainly from the DHS Adolescent Protective Team and Juvenile Justice. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service also can refer young people. The ACP program is a regional service.
