PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE CENTRAL GOLDFIELDS SHIRE

Children and Family Services

Families are important and we know that all parents want their children to have a fair go, but raising children is not always easy. It is reasonable for families to expect that help will be offered when things are difficult. When families can get help things can be better. At times when families need extra help (counselling and support), Children and Family Services (Cafs) might be able to assist. Cafs provide family and individual counselling and support, foster care placements for 0-14 year old children and advocacy while the family and Cafs staff workl together towards finding solutions to family difficutlries.

Recovery Focused Mental Health Services

Individual and group support, activities and socialising, and housing related rehabilitation

and support for adults with mental health issues. Respite for carers of those with a

mental illness is also available. Specialist programs for women with depression and

anxiety, and young people with a mental illness are periodically available.
