    Promoting Harmony

The Promoting Harmony Project received funding through the Commonwealth Government’s Family and Community Networks Initiative. The project aimed to assist residents of Long Gully and Eaglehawk to become more aware of the strengths that already exist in their local areas, and how these strengths might be used to make their neighbourhoods more harmonious places in which to live.

The project assisted residents in the development of community activities that promoted the development of networks, confidence, self-esteem and pride in the community. Some of the key activities included Theatre of Transformation, Dirt on Squirt (a short film created by the community), mentoring, street parties and the development of the Promoting Harmony Action Group which has been continuing to meet beyond the completion of the funded timelines for the project.
