Communities For Children
Communities
for Children aims to improve the health and well-being of children
in the birth to six years age group through the provision of funds
to support local projects designed to strengthen families and communities
to respond to children's needs.
The project
will work to establish community committees that identify needs
and create unique action plans for their community. Facilitating
agencies will then work in partnership with the community committees
to provide the financial resources necessary to implement the plan.
Communities for Children offers a wonderful opportunity to support
and facilitate change at the grass roots level and to build the
capacity of each community to promote the health and well-being
of young children. In Bendigo this project is being led through
a partnership between St Luke's Anglicare, Bendigo Community Health
Services, and the City of Greater Bendigo. In Swan Hill and
Robinvale it is being led through a partnership between St Luke's
Anglicare and Mallee Family Care.
