SEP (Special Education Program)

SEP offers supplementary assistance to pre-schools to support initiatives for the inclusion of children with severe disabilities in their pre-school program. SEP assistants work one on one with children with disabilities in pre-schools. An Inclusive program encourages and allows all children eligible to attend pre-school genuine opportunities to access and participate in the pre-school program. Through programming and implementation, inclusion fosters the development of a sense of belonging and accepts and respects individuality and diversity to promote a culture of interaction and learning.

SEP provides services for children from Woodend to Echuca and from Maryborough to Heathcote. SEP additional assistants work an average of 10 hours per week.

We have approximately twenty additional assistants working alongside children with a disability in the pre-school setting as part of the Inclusion Support Program. Each child receiving assistance through the Special Education Program is reviewed on a regular basis.
