Innovations Project

This project focuses on enhancing an expanding family support services for vulnerable children and their families by more appropriately responding to their needs. These services require a more flexible and individualised response in order to build family and community capacity and support families to remain outside the Child Protection system. This project offers a unique opportunity to redefine the parameters of effective service response to unique family and community needs. The key characteristics of these services include an innovative approach to service development, a network of coordinated services, a range of medium and high intensity services, a community based Child Protection Worker, and provision of sustained, enduring support to families who have significant long term needs. 

The development of the Innovations Project is being led through partnerships between Bendigo Community Health Services www.bchs.com.au, St Luke's Anglicare www.stlukes.org.au, The City of Greater Bendigo www.bendigo.vic.gov.au and The Department of Human Services www.dhs.vic.gov.au.
